Doom Patrol season 4: Release date, cast, trailer and latest news
The most insane DC Comics drama of all-time is airing its final season on Max.
Ten months after the first half of the season ended, Doom Patrol has returned to Max for its final six episodes.
Inspired by the cult-favourite comic book series, particularly the seminal run from legendary writer Grant Morrison, the DC hit follows a group of eccentric meta-human outcasts as they take on existential threats – each one stranger than the last.
The third season saw the gang go up against the Sisterhood of Dada, with Doctor Who star Michelle Gomez joining the cast as comic book villain Madame Rouge, and in the fourth season, they've been forced to deal with the coming of Immortus and the imminent Buttpocalypse.
Unluckily for UK fans, the final series still hasn't been made available on these shores – so if you're eager to find out what's next for this delightful oddity, read on for everything you need to know about Doom Patrol season 4.
Doom Patrol season 4 release date
Doom Patrol returned for a fourth run courtesy of US streaming service Max in December 2022, with the first six episodes of the season then airing until early January.
The first of the second batch of episodes will begin airing on Thursday 12th October 2023, with episodes continuing weekly until 9th November.
The fourth run was first announced during the virtual fan event DC FanDome in 2021, with Doom Patrol stars Joivan Wade, Diane Guerrero, April Bowlby and Michelle Gomez sending in videos to celebrate the good news.
The cast said: "Things are going to get very exciting with a new fourth season of Doom Patrol. Celebrate with us by watching the first three seasons out on HBO Max as of now. Things are about to heat up!"

How to watch Doom Patrol season 4 in the UK
Sadly for UK fans, there's still no word on when and where Doom Patrol season 4 will become available on this side of the Atlantic.
The first three seasons are all available to stream on both STARZPLAY and Lionsgate+, but the same is not yet true for the final run – as soon as we hear any word on a UK release date we'll update this page accordingly.
Doom Patrol season 4 cast
The surviving members of the Doom Patrol all returned for season 4 including Diane Guerrero (Orange Is the New Black) as Jane, a woman with several different identities, each one with their own distinct ability.
April Bowlby (Two and a Half Men) also returns as Rita Farr, a former Hollywood actress cursed with powers that often reduce her to a gelatinous state, but can be very handy when kept under control.
Meanwhile, White Collar's Matt Bomer is back as Larry Trainor (aka Negative Man) and The Mummy icon Brendan Fraser continues his comeback with another turn as Cliff Steele, the former NASCAR driver who was transformed into a cyborg after a horrifying racing accident.
Other stars included in the season 4 cast include Joivan Wade (The First Purge) as Victor Stone aka Cyborg, and Michelle Gomez (The Flight Attendant) as the enigmatic Madame Rouge.
Doom Patrol season 4 plot
The official synopsis for season 4 reads: "The Doom Patrol meet old friends and foes as they race to defeat Immortus and get back their longevities.
"Battling between saving the world and each other, the Doom Patrol are forced to face their deepest fears and decide if they are ready to let go of the past in order to take their future into their own hands — and away from the zombie butts.”
